Christy Putez has a variety of mask styles to paint your favorite design on. She has animals, super heroes, princesses, Halloween themed, and more to choose from. will paint and Meredith Semel’s Halloween bags are cotton canvas bags, and kids will use stamps using ink, fabric markers, and acrylic paint decorate them. Acorn Hunt Reminder

Attention parents that took home take-n-make!!
If you and your child have not brought in one of their acorns to hide for the Acorn Hunt next week, please try to bring them in this week. Out of the 15 we sent out, only 7 have been returned for the scavenger hunt. Thank you!

October Adult Book Club

Sign up for October book club now! We would love to have new faces in the group! We even welcome suggested books for the club. If you’d like to suggest a different place to meet, time or day, that is something that can be discussed also. Stop in and visit with the librarian. We hope to see you in at the book club! Button Tree Canvas

NOW’S THE TIME TO SIGN UP!
We have plenty of seats available for anyone that would like have a great time and join this class. You don’t need to be an artist or crafty to do this piece. This is for anyone and everyone that would like to enjoy something new and have fun in the company of others. Christy’s classes are always a great time! This class is free!
A “button tree” is a piece of art where buttons are used to represent leaves on a painted tree design. Choose from a wide variety of pre-drawn tree styles or design your own on a canvas. Then, glue buttons onto the branches to create a colorful and unique piece of art. Your tree doesn’t have to look realistic and everyone’s art piece will look different. However, we will all use the same instructions and materials.

Fall Take-n-makes

We are switching things up this time with Missy Sigler’s fall take-n-make kits! Kids get to take home these awesome fall scenery paint kits and then bring back one of the acorns for them to hide in the library. Once we’ve received enough acorns from each kit and the kids have hidden them, we will begin the Acorn Scavenger Hunt! Hurry in and let’s make it a fun-for-all!
Only 15 kits will be available and they always go FAST! They are available now at the library.

Back to School Scavenger Hunt

We hope the kids are excited to be begin school next week. To help them celebrate, we’re kicking off the new school year with a fun scavenger hunt themed, ‘Back to School!’ at the library. There will be new areas, all related to classrooms and more, where kids can search for hidden pictures. Find them all and receive a little treat. The scavenger hunt will begin the first Tuesday of September.

Last nights Community Night Grill Out was amazing!
I would like to give a huge thank you to the Friends of the Library for all their planning and hard work they put in each year for this event. It’s quite a process and they always do an incredible job of getting all the little details put together to make the evening as enjoyable as possible for the community. I would also like to thank the following for their donations, contributions, support, and time:
Essentia Health; Tri-County Co-op; Ag Country; Big Stone Dairy Association; Dennis Foley and friends for their lively music; Christy Puetz, the fun crafty lady; our three grillers, Dana Tchida, Dale Anderson, and Nathan Fischer; the two in charge of showing the firetrucks, John Risvedt, Duane Richardson, and Dep. Alex Goergen and K9 Kota with the Big Stone County Sheriff’s Dept. If I have overlooked someone, thank you and I apologize. I hope everyone that came last night had a good time enjoyed the food, company, music, crafts, games, and giveaways. We hope to see you again next year!
